Part of owning a business is giving back to the community involving volunteer work. As a member of Monmouth Ocean Health Underwriters (MOAHU) I am able to do just that. The Food Bank of Monmouth Ocean collects food to distribute to area food banks in the respective counties. They have numerous programs including Child Nutrition programs, Senior Food program, Nutrition education, Mobile Pantry a Volunteer garden.
As a group we were able to assist in moving food that was donated off pallets and sorting them to get the items ready for distribution to the general public. Today the FoodBank distributes more than 8 million pounds of food through a network of 260 feeding programs.
